How to Stop UC Browser from Tracking You

UC Browser is quick and pretty light on your phone but it is no secret that it collects more data than most people are happy with. If you do not want your browsing habits being followed around you can make a few changes to keep things private.

Switch Off Location Access

First thing to do is cut off location permissions. Open your phone settings find UC Browser and turn location to “off.” That way the app will not know where you are while using it.

Clear Out Stored Data

Cookies and cache can tell a lot about you. Go into UC Browser from Tracking settings tap on privacy and wipe both cookies and cache. Doing this now and then helps reduce tracking.

Browse in Incognito

Incognito mode will not save your history or searches. It is not perfect but it keeps less info stored on your device.

Remove Extra Permissions

If UC Browser asks for camera or mic access and you do not need it just block it. You can do this from your phone’s app permission settings.

Use a VPN for Extra Safety

A VPN hides your real IP and scrambles your internet traffic. Even if some data is collected it becomes much harder to link it back to you.
